On the National Day of Encouragement let us put forth positive energy to those who are hurting and suffered great loss. Let's not forget that we could very well walk in the shoes of those who need prayer, hope and encouragement today. Let us be grateful for the things we are blessed with and in turn help others who are less fortunate. May we use this day to be united in strength and compassion for our fellow humans. I took of a couple of days off from posting on Instagram as I was devoting many hours in emotional support for those going through Hurricane Irma. Today I am encouraged and proud of the strength my fellow Americans have. The great generosity and self sacrifice was amazing. We survive and we carry on. God bless the survivors of Harvey and Irma and for those who lost loved ones I am heartbroken for you. Through these great events we truly see what is most important in life. Through loss we gain strength, compassion and appreciation. We carry on! Blessings!! xoxo #dailydosefromdebra#movingforward #positivelife #wecarryon#Harvey#Irma#dayofencouragement
I'm in an MCR mood today, and I've been thinking about Gee a bit, which is understandable right? I mean I know he relapsed, and he's been down since the breakup but I'm still just so proud of him for carrying on. I'm 29 and I've suffered from forms of depression since I was a child, and I know how hard it can be, just living day to day. Sometimes the monkey on your back is tearing at you, other times it's clinging to you for dear life. It's hard, it's a struggle. Getting one foot infront of the other keeps you moving, but the destinations are unclear. The thing that always amazes me about Gee is his resilience, he's been through this mill over and again, but he pulls through no matter how low he gets. I relate to his struggle, I know his fight, and I applaud his bravery for being so open about how it affects him. The MCR legacy isn't just the music, the gigs, the fanbase. The MRC legacy is one of mutual care, of finding strength when you thought there was none left, of lending love to one another. If there was something I could tangibly pass down to my daughter of my early twenties, of growing up the hard way but getting through it, better and stronger, it would be that experience.
