Story - summarized
Helz had planned to go to the Designer’s Tea Party in Wintermount to win and to promote his store. But once he sees Qin Yi’s and Mercury’s designs, he feels hesitant and decides to withdraw from the contest to study harder.
On the way out, he meets tomboyish Mita, who assures him that his dress is pretty and he should still try the contest. Mita is here with her boss to promote his own design, which his soon-to-be wife will wear at their wedding. Helz realizes that Mita has a crush on her boss, and she admits she had tried changing herself to be girlier so he would notice her.
But Mita still wasn’t happy, and the boss stayed with his fiancée. Nevertheless, Helz gives her the dress he made, and then he leaves for the airport. He reviews his designs while waiting for his flight.
He stumbles upon an acceptance speech he made: “The Apple Apparel Group believes designs should spark joy and everyone should be able to express themselves with clothing.” Helz understands that designs should be tailored to the person, not the other way around.
Helz returns to the contest, but this time, he makes a gorgeous pantsuit that fits Mita’s style. He enters the design for the contest, and then he gives it to Mita to wear to the wedding. She officiates the ceremony in that suit, looking happier and more confident than she had before.
And as Helz expected, Qin Yi and Mercury win the Tea Party with their gowns. But, Aphrodia makes a special award just for Helz. She was impressed with his unique design, so she made a recognition award for him. He still gets to give an acceptance speech (and remembers to plug his store). Soon after, he is flooded with calls and orders for pantsuits to wear. He delays his return home to Flowerland to take care of all the designs here.
Connections
-This takes place during the Wedding Hell Event, and Helz’ story overlaps with Mercury’s and Qin Yi’s Reflections in the timing.
-Helz’s overconfidence nearly causes a dilemma in his Reflection for Diamond Star. He rushes into opening Apple Apparel for the first time without any knowledge of business.
Fun Facts
-The main judge that talks is Mr. Ande from the Starheaven Swan pageant. He is a little less snobby during the Wedding Hell than he was during the pageant. He still doesn’t like Nikki, though.
-Aphrodia hosts the Wintermount wedding design competition. Aphrodia is based after the Greek goddess Aphrodite: both are born from the sea, both are the most beautiful, and both preside over love and beauty. The only difference is that Aphrodia also works with weddings, which is the goddess Hera’s role.
-This is the first pantsuit in the game.
