Yes friends, this is what you think it is. This is the OG X-Wing PC game that began it all. (Actually, it’s the collector’s edition featuring all content and expansions for the original game, released in 1994, one year after its initial launch.) This game, though primitive in some aspects compared to today’s video games, set the standard for Star Wars space combat. Striking a masterful balance between accessible arcade fun and realistic simulation, this game had it all: a massive number of missions (over 120 missions after all expansions are accounted for!) just about every starfighter craft in Star Wars canon at the time, incredible voice acting, a fine-tuned and deep control system, the list goes on and on. They absolutely do NOT make them like this anymore. I’ll never forget the hours I’d spend in front of my old computer monitor vaping TIEs and soaring across the stars. The X-Wing PC game is widely regarded as inferior to its successor, TIE Fighter, and on many dimensions, I can’t disagree with that. But being a rebellion pilot through and through, I always favored this golden opportunity to fly my favorite craft against the evil empire. Does Wedge Antilles show up in the game? Actually no, I don’t think so. But does his spirit live in thrilling Star Wars space combat? Absolutely. Every time you hop in a cockpit. 🔥 #starwars #xwing #collecting #starwarscollector #starwarscollection #starwarscollectibles #wedgeantilles #wedgeUcation #vapelife #gaming #starwarsgaming #starwarsgaming #lucasarts #xwingpcgame #pcgaming https://www.instagram.com/p/CJ4rOY7Jnmm/?igshid=2j491q357g02
