Will you ever continue "Wedlocked"? If not, could you reveal your original plans for the story?
It’s been about 12-13 years since I last worked on Wedlocked, so it’s probably safe to say it’ll be left unfinished. I kind of wrote myself into an infinity trap on that one--meaning there was really no end in sight for the story I had planned and the notes I’d made. It just kept going and going until Johnny and Blackheart’s kids were teenagers. (Bit of a spoiler there.)
But I’ve been meaning to at least dig up my old notes and give Wedlocked a “closing chapter” with a rundown of all the things I’d planned to add, and since I’m working on getting my fic archive organized, now would be a great time to do that.
Rutger Hauer 1944-2019 RIP
My Top Five Rutguer Hauer Movies
So very sad news that one of the great genre actors has passed away, Rutger Hauer is one of my favorite actors of all time I can’t tell you how many B-Movies or straight to DVD films I saw just because he was in them, he will be missed.
Now I’m going to throw out a Top 5, now these are mine, I left off Blade Runner, everyone has seen it and he’s great in it. I left off The Hitcher, even though he’s great in it I dislike that movie.
These will be quick little blurbs, but don’t you worry a lot of these films will be done in either my classic reviews or the Darrin’s Cache reviews.
5. Salem’s Lot (2004)
this was a made for cable remake mini-series and I liked it and Hauer was very good, I mean it was prefect casting.
4. Wedlock (1991)
A very fun Sci-Fi action where two people have collar bombs around their neck and they can’t be too far apart from each other and yes the teams are all men and women, very entertain B-Movie that Hauer and the rest of the cast elevated.
3. Split Second (1992)
This isn’t a great movie but Hauer is great and again this is a really cool kick ass fun genre film, Sci-Fi action.
2. Ladyhawke (1985)
I’ll throw in something mainstream, the cast is very good here and Hauer gets to play not only a bad ass but the romantic lead, a lovely film and also a good action adventure story.
1.Blind Fury (1989)
I love this movie, one of my all time favorite action B-Movies, Hauer is an ex solider who has learned martial arts after he has become blind, yup Rutger Hauer plays a blind man who has a sword in his white cane and he kicks a ton of ass. Really good cast in this and this really should have been seen by more people, if you liked Hauer more mainstream stuff and you haven’t seen this check it out.
So there’s a few recommendations to check out if you haven’t seen them you’re in for a treat.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Tales of the Code - Wedlocked
This is a funny short film and prequel to The Curse of the Black Pearl, which explains some secrets about the franchise... Also largely inspired by the ride! Enjoy!
