Wednesday Workings pt 1
Because Wednesday is a day of many, many things, there are so many different aspects to honor this day, both secular and sacred. Divination is a great thing to do just after dark (or midnight) on Wednesdays. Meditation is also an important aspect for Wednesday observances.
If you’re like me, Wednesdays are my busiest days. Interestingly enough, I work every Wednesday and Thursday, yet Thursdays are my late day into work, so Wednesday evenings I have an extra hour or two to get stuff done. I take full advantage of this as often as possible, but it means Wednesdays are almost always packed with activities and it’s hard to let my mind rest.
If you are not working at a regular job, plan this day for travel activities, making visits, crafts, or writing activities. Do not be idle on Wednesday, or bad luck may come your way! Remember: idle hands make idle minds!
Initially, I had wanted to simply give you all a list of small things you can do in spare, fleeting moments of Wednesday hours, and I will begin with a couple of things you can do to start out your mid-week.
~ Begin your day with Tai Chi. Yoga is a good choice, but I found Tai Chi to be a much more productive activity for mid-week. Make certain that whatever you choose, you focus on your mind, your breathing, and your mental clarity and focus more than your physical or emotional state.
~ Before or after breakfast, complete a puzzle or other activity. This can be a crossword, Sudoku, perhaps a coloring page or maze. Anything mentally stimulating to prepare yourself for this day. (Do not do this while you are eating, as letting your mind wander and focus on such tasks takes energy away from digestion, which in turn may cause bloating and sluggishness and therefore a non-productive day). Try to avoid any technology or screens for as long as possible!
~ If you are not working at a regular job, plan this day for travel activities, making visits, crafts, or writing activities. Stay busy, but not stressed!
~ End your day with guided meditation or divination, particularly seeking mental clarity and focus to help your busy mind wind down from the day!
