Bake Off Is An Institution

I thought we’d begin this journey by giving in to a (very British) stereotype.

There is nothing more British than the institution that is GBBO. Yes, it’s that time of year again (thank God) and to make sure that we actually watch it this year, because we're the kind of people who give up on shows preeettyyyyyy quickly, Socks and I have set up a Wednesday night Sofa Party.

Like the rest of the country, we'll laugh / cry / Judge Very Hard and pretend we know the first thing about pastry, choux or otherwise, and generally have a great time and pretend the show hasn't made us really crave a cake or five.

We're not sure yet if we'll be mourning this time next year when Bake Off has moved to Channel 4 (without Mel and Sue - *waahhhhhh*) although lets be honest, it's never gonna be the same. So for now we'll enjoy what's left of this series, curled up on the sofa with a cup of tea.

We're British, after all.
