“You had to compete for her hand?” the queen questioned. She’d known that other cultures had such traditions; as a child it had always confounded her, and even now she struggled to see the benefits. “Is that a common practice in your kingdom? To have a competition for the right to marry? Or does that only apply to royalty?”

A poppy-red eyebrow popped up as he stomped his foot, lips pursed thoughtfully. She had as much fun teasing Wee Dingwall as the next (before he went all Berseker), but that didn’t mean she liked to completely disregard her friend.

“Are ye sure ye’re not more nervous about the time?” she asked, gesturing to the fading evening sky. “It is a wee bit on the late side, but I will be fast. I cannae let my mum know I lost the clan gift.” 

She walked Angus out of his stall, petting his nose affectionately. “If ye’re so worried, why not come with me?”

“Haggis is...what?” Concealing her disgust was a futile endeavor. Her brows pulled together enough to crease her forehead, lips pressing into a grimace as she regarded him with a combination of horror and awe. “And you like it?”

Let the record show that she really did try to hold back. It was hard, however, especially with how serious Dingwall looked. His overly red lips were pursed just so, glimpsing his large buck teeth.

She covered her mouth to stifle her laughter, snorts and chortles slipping through fingers. “Och, Dingwall,” she said, rubbing her neck. “Ye have to be careful talkin’ like that. Whit would yer da say?”

when she had been sent to scotland to try and get to know some of the native clans, she hadn’t been expecting to be met by the heirs to the clans -- and certainly not the rather lost looking one. was he even one of the heirs? please let him not be one of the heirs...

((I love red! Especially dark red and crimson colors!))

3. Favorite animal?

((Ya know, I’ve never really thought about it. I remember when I was a kid, my favorite animal was the cheetah. xD But present day, I think I’d have to say pandas! Probably a little cliche, but they’re just so darn cute. I wish I could hug one; they look like such big balls of softness and fluff! <3
