had a dream where there was a sequel movie released for trigun: badlands rumble called "trigun: the onlookers" where multiple versions of vash (like 98', trimax, etc) and a few other characters would sit and react to things mystery science theater style. all of the things they were reacting to was brand new content and No you could not turn them off

Back when I lived in Norway I knew a guy who loved Bionicle but somehow didn't know any of the lore, so he ended up writing his own. When I presented him the actual lore, he said he hated it incredibly. He kept a huge folder of printed out A3 format paper sheets with fanlore he wrote, an entire encyclopedia of creatures of his creation (technically rahi, or just "animals/monsters" he called them) with detailed construction manuals, names, history, even area on which they lived (he used the Mata Nui map for this, which he got from some official site or something). He made those manuals referencing every detail by its' LEGO ID code and drawing illustrations by hand. After some time he ended up making maps for other islands after researching geology and possible ways of evolving the terrain, ending up with an alternate mythology where Mata Nui the island was surrounded by 7 other islands. He also had different views on elements. Rather than Fire, Water, Ice, Air, Ground and Stone, he joined Ground and Stone into Earth and added in Light and Darkness. 7 islands that surrounded Mata Nui were the source of elemental power on it, and if something went wrong there, the elements on the central island would become unbalanced too, thus making the heroes go there and explore.

He also had a hatred for associating darkness with evil, so the whole team of 7 toa included the dark element. The actual evils were those who wanted to throw the balance and peace off, the invaders, the heretics, traitors.

One of the evil guys was a dude called Chimoprho. An insane scientist and fascist trying to combine elements together, briefly creating quasi-elemental fusions of matoran which turned into monsters quickly after. The toa were sent to stop his crime against the natural order of things, which resulted in the toa of fire (male) getting fused with the toa of water (female) to create a toa of steam. Afterwards, after unfusing, he wrote they had an awkward time talking for quite a while.

There were also a faction of evil guys who were just bugs. Ancient ants who came from the crust of the earth, once extinct but now coming into a new ecosystem. In their times, they were but a pest, but nowadays they turned out to be too OP for the land to handle them. Kind of part of the reason why ancient = powerful in his setting. In the ancient times shit was just stronger. And stronger things tended to cause more chaos in the balance of everything.

He often told me about my creations because I came to the same pub as him, I am a responsible drinker and a terrible insomniac - beer, ale, any amount of alcohol knocks me out in a matter of minutes usually, so I count it as a way to have a good night. Because of this I met him and he told me stuff about it because he noticed the new canister with Zaktan in it i bought just before going to the pub. We had a hot discussion about lore I wasn't too familiar with, but familiar enough to realize he's talking about some mad fan lore rather than the actual thing. Which interested me a lot back then. His broken English was bit funny, but we found that I could understand his Norsk and he - my English, so we ended up talking in two languages.

This guy had the most hard brewed autism I ever met. I had mad respect for him, and was so, so interested in his works and passion. I lost his number and doubt I can find him online, since his old Facebook account haven't been touched in over 10 years, so are his old accounts on forums in Norwegian. I hope he's doing fine, and if I can find him I would really encourage him to share his creations with the world.

This man made LEGO molds out of paperclips when he couldn't afford buying new sets. He wrote a manual bestiary with instructions on how to make fan-made beasts of incredible detail, mostly by hand. He created huge storylines and loredumps, chronicles, all in his native language. This man disliked the official lore so much he incorporated into his world build as a "parallel universe" specifically specified to be "inferior".

I received this ask a long time ago, and I've been holding it in my inbox for a while. I didn't want to answer it originally because I didn't have any idea on what to say, but I think I do now.

Anon, you definitely had a good friend, and I hope you're able to find them. This story was a very touching one, and I revisit it often. Honestly, the only reason I'm posting it now is because I think others should see it. Your friend made their own story out of Bionicle, which is honestly what it was meant for. If you haven't already, Anon, I think you should share this story more. It's rather inspiring :)

Small PSA for the few kaloscopians on Tumblr; if you see someone spreading a rumor that COA/Kaloscope is biased towards older fans (or that they disrespect moderators), do not believe it! The situation is ongoing, but the screenshots used as proof are not confirmed to be real. Furthermore, the source they are getting information from is an ex-kalo member, however we have no idea if they are being truthful or not due to them leaving extremely early on in season one/antipode and having unknown motivations outside of that.

Just wanted to bring this to awareness. I'll update this post if anything new comes up!
