Week 3-4, because work is the wrong type of fun sometimes

After about a week of pondering the meaning of life and re-watching Mononoke, I decided that I am not entirely happy with the pattern I did last time and wanted to redo it. Specifically, I wanted to re-balance the colors to have more purple and less green, as well as to move the “eye” up and to the left. So, I spent the 6 hours remaking the pattern of the front of the sleeve, making the pattern of the back, and cutting out almost all pieces I will need for the sleeve applique. 

Things I learned: 1. I am a perfectionist and I am in pain because of how bad the pictures I take are.

2. Starting with an okay pattern and updating if necessary is better than trying to get everything right the first time around. Fixing mistakes is easier than starting from scratch.

3. Embroidery transfer pens, if they can be washed off of your fabric (test, test, test on a small swatch first), are amazing. I got these and was pretty happy with them

For the final two weeks of Organizational Structures class we had the option of a style of motion media to create a 5 second presentation of the city logo with. I chose an animatic after doing research into all of the styles presented. There were some issues with the timing initially, but in the 2nd iteration that was resolved, and the camera work became more clear. I plan to make more animatics in the future, and perhaps add key frames as well.
