Me and my shoes. I seem to photograph me and my shoes all the time. I have done it for the past 3 years. It seems a bit cliche but it has become my own personal record that I have been here. I think if I were to search through my photo file. I could produce a series. It reminds me of Ai Weiwei "Fuck you" series. Mine is not political. It is a personal process. For me it is all about the PROCESS.
Recording the transformation of my art space.
Bus Project artworks
I have been visiting local Melbourne art galleries like this one. I am interested in how other artists are expressing their ideas using materials. Artist notes: I am recognise that the make up of an object/material can be as interesting as the aesthetic look of the material.
Class work - Silent feedback: Provide feedback using post-it notes.Write your responses, emotions, thoughts about each others artworks. Homework: use words as a material to respond to Make a work based on the post-it note feedback Artists notes: I responded to the post it note exercise by responding to the words : Office Romance. I thought about objects that reminded me of the office and a situation of an office liaison/relationship. I began by incorporating the post to notes that were written on by students. I then placed them into the artwork as they reminded me of an office environment. They symbolise being busy, passing information and a common tool of the office. I used lots of office style post it notes with colour to provide an excitement, energy around flirtatious behaviour. Meet you @ the Pub. Is written over the post it notes as an invitation to a potential liaison after work - the iconic Australian ritual of the 'after work drink'. Although this narrative is used to create the piece, it then becomes a pursuit of mine to create an aesthetic piece of repeating colours, textures and texture.
This is Imogen’s artwork. I have been given this piece and ask to respond to it using a different material.
Artist note: This is my response to Imogen's artwork. I was interested in capturing it from a different perspective and experimenting with speed, time and location.
Class work - Iteration 2 (30 minutes) Make a work that responds to the artwork you have been given in a different material. Artist notes: The artwork above is Ishkoodah's artwork in response to my first response to the A4 white page task.
