“Oh my god!”
Veronica had been completely convinced she was alone in the house. When she’d gotten home from the market a couple hours ago, the house had been silent. The Wilson siblings were so often on their own schedule, it was no surprise to her that everyone was out on a Saturday afternoon.
What was a surprise was when Vee looked up from her laptop and saw her sister standing in the kitchen. Vee had been immersed in an article Violet had sent her and hadn’t even heard her sister enter the room.
“How long have you been here?” Vee asked, her heart still racing slightly from the slight shock. “I thought everyone was out! Do you want me to make you lunch?” she asked, immediately shutting her laptop and standing.
