And if I may another one... perhaps Masamune + Truth + irony?
Hi Lorei!
Thank you for joining the weekend party!
Uffda… this is a difficult one. Masamune is pretty straightforward. While Mitsuhide is often intentionally ironic, and Mitsunari is often unintentionally so, but … Masamune… hmm…
Scene: Masamune has just watched Mitsunari pick every single carrot out of his meal – a meal that Masamune spent all afternoon preparing – and pile them next to his dish.
Mitsunari looks over and sees Masamune staring at the pile of carrots. Mitsunari pauses, with that last carrot still clutched between his chopsticks. “You don’t mind, do you?”
“Mind? Lad, why should I mind?” Masamune sighs. “I made this meal for you, after all. If you don’t want to eat all of it, I would be a terrible host if I insisted that you eat the meal exactly as I prepared it.”
“Oh good.” Mitsunari disposes of the last carrot. “Because I really don’t like carrots.”
“I see that.” The pile of discarded carrots threatens to topple off the table. Masamune grabs an empty container. “It’s a good thing I haven’t taken the compost out yet.”
“That is a good thing. I would hate to inconvenience you.” Now that his dish is carrot-free, Mitsunari settles down, opens the book he brought with him, and begins to eat. “Thank you, Lord Masamune, you are very kind.”
Kind? Kind?! There were other words he might use for a man who spent the afternoon cooking a meal for someone who would neither eat all of it, nor pay attention to what was going into his mouth. Pushover… not that anyone would dare use that word in combination with ‘one-eyed dragon.’ Fierce. Wild. Adventurous. Those were descriptions he would lay claim to. No… he was only doing what was practical here, making certain that their chief strategist didn’t die of starvation prior to the next battle.
Seeing as Mitsunari was already deep into his book, Masamune tries sneaking a carrot back into the dish. Without skipping a beat, Mitsunari’s chopsticks flicks the carrot out again.
Kind. Hmph.
Good morning! Happy Weekend Party!
Hm.... what is my type? Shingen, Mitsunari, Sasuke... as for Prince.... having now read almost every route (except Luke, and not yet done with Keith), I'm not sure that I have a favorite in that game... I enjoyed Silvio's route a lot (possibly because of Emma), and Yves and Licht, but those are more favorite routes than favorite LIs. For Rev, it's Luka and Harr.
Thank you in advance!
Impromptu! Hello! Nice seeing you here, as always :)
Hmm... My best guess would be "intelligent and capable (at least in certain areas)"? You know, somebody dependable, who can solve problems without additional guidance. Possibly intellectual types? Good for discussions? Prone to treating their partners as, well, partners rather than objects in need of protection?
Now, this is just a conjecture, but wouldn't Silvio fit into that framework to an extent too? It may be somewhat evened out by how he manages his emotions, but undeniably, he's shrewd and he can get things done. Sometimes too efficiently. Although... I think that what he may be lacking could be that obvious underlying kindness streak. He's a bit rougher around the edges than, say, Shingen.
Weekend Party (#?)
Weekend Truth or Dare:
Keiji - Dare - Tangled
Hopefully, we can do more than one request. If not, please ignore this one.
I just appreciate you being here and being willing to share your words with us.
Thank you again! 🥰
Hi @bestbryn
You can ask for more than one, yes. I’m trying to spread the responses out through the next week. The background for this HC is the fact that Samurai used to knit in their downtime (source here, if you want to read the article: https://www.theknottingway.com/post/asian-knitting-history ).
Anyway... Keiji/Dare/Tangled... a stream of conscious headcanon on the prompt "tangled."
No one is more surprised than you when you slide open the door Keiji’s quarters to deliver a message and discover that he’s knitting. You hover in the doorway, not daring to speak, afraid of disturbing that look of concentration on his face. His intense focus suggests that he is still learning, still afraid of dropping a stitch, but even from where you stand, you can tell that he’s making progress on… something. Normally, Keiji’s face – when he knows people are looking at him – is creased in an ear to ear smile. It’s a smile that you now know is an act. You’ve seen him without the smile too, and been a victim to his unguarded tongue. But this look is something different. It’s serious, intent, neither falsely happy or angrily sour. You’re fascinated by this – focused Keiji is incredibly attractive. Equally attractive are those large calloused hands carefully working the bamboo knitting needles, as his finger keeps the tension on the yarn. Finally sensing another presence, Keiji looks up, and realizing it’s you, he lets go of the needles and the yarn… which rolls across the floor and stops by your foot. Wordlessly, you pick it up, and winding as you go, you return it to Keiji, dropping it back into his hand. As you do so, your fingers touch his, and it is almost as if invisible knitting needles are stitching your emotions to his, your entire being becoming tangled up with Keiji.
Weekend Truth or Dare:
Mitsuhide - Truth - Sensitivity
I love this idea!!
Thank you!! 💙
Hi @bestbryn !
And last weekend's party spills into this weekend. Thank you for the ask! Truth requests were for short (100ish word) monologues...
Mitsuhide. Truth. Sensitivity.
Scene: MC/Mai/You spent the morning arranging flowers, and left a vase of them in Mitsuhide’s castle for him to discover later when he arrives home.
[later….]
Such a silly little mouse, to leave flowers for one who can neither smell them, nor appreciate the gesture. A waste, in fact. What use is it to give flowers to a person whose senses have been purposefully dulled by years working in the darkness? Does she think these will brighten my existence? Does she believe that these bright petals will lead me into the light? Poor, delusional little girl. For darkness is choice, one made of necessity, and a bouquet of wildflowers cannot make up for what I have done and must continue to do.
In spite of his thoughts, he doesn’t banish the flowers to a room where he cannot see them. Instead, he stands before them for a long moment, and with one finger, lightly touches one of the soft yellow petals.
👀👀👀👀 do you know who I'm inviting to your weekend party? Just Sasuke, Licht and Dazai of course. I told them there would be swimming. Whether or not there is actually swimming isn't the point, the point is that I have lured them.
❤️❤️ You and I have talked a little bit about my OC Masami which you can switch out for me if you feel comfortable with it ❤️❤️
Lovely! Now, let me see what I can make with this... On the topic of swimming, if somebody requested Silvio and Gilbert, I have an entire Little Mermaid AU ready for them, just saying...
Okay, a Casino AU, but it's a weird one.
Surrounding circumstances:
Dazai uses a door for once, but it's The Door (trademarked), and it breaks in the middle of the *gestures vaguely* door-ing, I suppose,
Sasuke runs away from Kenshin, and behold, he is now double dead, for he dares disappear! Well, that wormhole is conveniently timed,
Clavis forces Licht to go out and have fun in the town. However, their ideas on what fun is aren't exactly the same... So, concerned Masami follows him, juuust in case. Well, they end up having to run away from a gigant (paper-mache; filled with eggs; leaking) boulder -- and so, they fall into a hole. Cradle-style, if you catch my meaning.
And so, they all wake up in a Casino, somewhere. Except this entire universe is the Casino. As stated on the leaflet by the door, the only way for a person to leave this space is to win in at least one game.
They start with billard. Dazai doesn't seem to take the entire thing particularly seriously, but he doesn't need to. Licht doesn't know the rules, Masami doesn't either and Sasuke is too busy considering the implications of the existence of vampires to: a. focus on playing; b. offer any explanations. The fact that Dazai has changed into something more fitting for the occasion has absolutely nothing to do with this outcome.
Then, there's poker. Dazai has already won, so he's losing intentionally. Sasuke loses unintentionally -- this time, he's considering the logistics of being a vampire, wonders whether he shouldn't offer any blood donations, and a part of his brain is also occupied by the similarity between his and Licht's facial expression range. (Kindred spirits?) Whether Masami knows the rules is unclear, but he panics too much. Licht wins!
Now, Sasuke is a smart guy. As soon as he works through his initial shock, he secures himself a win easily.
The real problem is Masami.
The poor servant just... He's not coping well, okay? He can see all those human and vampiric auras, they narrowly escaped becoming a part of art project that met scrambled eggs, they have to try unfamiliar games. It's plenty to take in! So they wind up playing tick-tack-toe. Masami is still very much overwhelmed, so Licht, Sasuke and Dazai do their upmost to lose.
However, the Casino universe forced them to play on 64 by 64 squares board. It takes a while.
Weekend Party
Party!!
Say, say, what about... Kanetsugu and/or maybe Chevalier?
Ok, for Chevalier... I just have this image of him in his private library, reading by candle or lantern light, and if he had the ability to listen to music in there, it would be classical music. Something on the surface restrained and mathematical, but ... underneath, there is a potential for something more. Something in a minor key. Something Baroque. And so I pick Vivaldi Cello Concerto in C Minor. Music for him to read to.
With Kanetsugu, what you see on the surface is him purposefully shoving his feral side down, way down. He's terrified of what happens when he lets his anger go. For him, we're going to go with Muse, "Ruled by Secrecy" ... which, is kind of on the nose (I briefly considered something by Depeche Mode, but ultimately, I liked the way this sounded musically).
