Happy Friday!

Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.

I hope you have had a blessed week, I’m so sorry to be late with my encouragement post this week. I returned back to school Monday after a very restful Thanksgiving Break and immediately went into crunch time for my final exams that started this morning. This morning has been a week full of discouragement. It just seemed like one thing after the other was going wrong in my life, and I was so disheartened. I came across this verse Wednesday morning during my morning Pinterest raid, and I realized that I am a Child of God. A Daughter of the One True King. I felt immediate peace with everything that was going on in my life. I am thankful to God for the new opportunities that have been laid before me now. 

Have you ever just been so down in the dumps over a series of events? Your life just isn’t going the way you want? Do not fret my dear sweet friend. YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD. He is so awesome and provides for you what you do not even realize you need yet. For when one door in your life closes, two more open in it’s place. Be still, and know that He is there! Even when you are feeling the most discouraged, know that He is with you. That is such an awesome feeling knowing that God is always with you and he knows the innermost works of your life. While you may not know what lies ahead of you in life, God does and it is the most perfect future for you.

My prayer this week for you is to have a good finals week, may you pass them all with flying colors. Just keep holding on, you are almost to the finish line! Stand firm.

Happy Thanksgiving! - almost.

I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. {Psalm 9:1} 

The holiday season is finally upon us, its a time to be with loved ones, with friends that have been away, with God. Personally, I am seriously looking forward to eating my heart out to homemade holiday treats. My heart is beginning to feel overwhelmed with joy, and thankfulness, and quality time with others. The holidays are my favorite. I mean, theres no class, no term papers, no late night study sessions, no worries really. I get to relax and spend some time with both my Heavenly Father and my earthly family. Not to mention all the food I’ll get to devour. :) But, there always is the downside of family members asking all kinds of questions. “Do you have a boyfriend?” “What are your plans after school?” “Why don’t you have a boyfriend?” etc. You know how it goes, but one can only approach these situations with a thankful heart and joy.

But how is your heart this holiday season? Are you thankful and grateful? To be truly thankful and grateful, a heart needs to be filled Jesus. I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite parts of the holiday season is being able to go to my favorite coffee shop and have some serious Jesus time. With this, I prepare my heart for thanksgiving and give thanks to my Father for all the blessings he has put into my life. Blessings come in many shapes in sizes, whether it be a professor giving you the extra points you deserve to get the A you wanted, or to dig into your winter coat pockets to find a $5 bill (this happened to me this week). Be thankful in anything and everything you do this holiday season, for there is always a reason to be thankful.

His love gives life. John 10:10-11

Somedays may feel like they are just no good rotten days. You got a bad grade on a test that you studied all night long for, your favorite sweater somehow got paint all over it, a loved one passed, your best friend is mad at you, and then anything and everything in between. Life can really get you down, but you know who doesn’t get you down? God. Our Lord is a steady constant in  life with an unconditional love. It brings great joy to my heart to see how he loves someone like me, I am so far from perfect, but he loves me anyway. His love gives life to the weak and weary, to the high and mighty, to the restless and worrisome, to everyone. His love speaks louder than the action of anyone around. So instead of turning to something that may not give you life, turn to the Lord. Because you know what? You are breathing, you are wonderful, you are a child of the one true king.
