Meet Some of Our 2018 Graduates

Meet Jackie Howell - BS International Affairs and Modern Language

Jackie was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and raised here in Atlanta. She has accepted an offer with Teach for America and will be working in Kansas City, Missouri as and English as a Second Language Teacher. Jackie says that the thing she will miss most after graduation is the diverse Yellow Jacket community and unique multicultural experiences she has had as an undergraduate student. She has loved the opportunity to make friends with people from diverse backgrounds across the globe ranging from Saudi Arabia to Venezuela to India! Jackie advises incoming students to get involved in caps organizations and become passionate about what you stand for as you grow and meet so many people that will make a lasting impact on you. Also, study abroad as many times as possible because taking your education beyond the classroom and immersing yourself in another culture is incredibly valuable!

Meet Nathan Fisher - MS International Affairs

Nathan is from Douglasville, Georgia. He will be continuing his passion for International Affairs by taking a position in Washington DC after he graduates. Nathan’s biggest piece of advice to incoming Ivan Allen Students is to get to know your professors and go to office hours! Office hours are great for getting help on assignments, but also a great way to discuss the topics you are studying in greater depth. Nathan says that because his professors were experts in their field, they gave him additional readings, research assistance, and career advice!

Meet Evan Long - BS International Affairs

Evan is from Lilburn, Georgia and both his parents also graduated from Georgia Tech! After graduation, Evan has planned a career that focuses on enticing companies to Georgia and preparing people to explore Georgia business. He will begin law school at the University of Georgia in the fall! Meet Caroline Pietsch - BS Applied Languages and Intercultural Studies 

Caroline is another Georgia native graduate from St. Simon’s Island. After graduation she will begin her career as a Sales and Project Coordinator for Marmi Natural Stone! Marmi is one of the nation’s largest integrated suppliers of natural stone from around the globe, catering to the specific needs of architects, designers, and general contractors for both commercial and residential purposes. While a student here at Tech, Caroline got experience with the company as an intern and also studied abroad in Spain. She says these experiences, along with her involvement in Greek life, helped her get out of her comfort zone and enjoy experiencing new things! 

Meet Aditya Bhatambrekar - MS Economics 

Aditya came all the way from Nashik, India to study at Georgia Tech! After graduation Aditya plans to pursue a career that combines economics with building construction. He says he is looking forward to stepping into a field that he loves and he’s glad that Georgia Tech helped him discover this passion. Aditya also says that he will miss the happenings on campus and late night library study sessions with friends! His advice to future students is that if you put in the extra hours, Georgia Tech will reward those efforts.
