I recently had the opportunity to revive an old pet project of mine – which is doing something with Kurrent script that makes it legible without losing its characteristic look. This is a more or less historical accurate version – please check my next post for the modernized variation! (For those who are not familiar with Kurrent – it is an historical gothic German handwriting style – lots of modulations over the centuries, it started out much less oblique and as a broad edge style, naturally … this here is based on the 19th century style, I used a beautiful exemplar by J. H. Jäger – swipe to see some of his writing. It has a ratio of 4:1:4, and the x-height here is 2,5 mm which is quite big for Kurrent 😅). :: Kurrent, irgendjemand 😁?
