Dark gestured a few thin fingers to the bulk of his paper, mottled black and white from the scribblings of his pen, writing messily and scratching out paragraphs and sentences as he went. It was an incomplete process, but a strenuously devoted one.

“It is an art I pride myself in, taken for granted on far too many accounts. There is a gift in being able to build worlds with sentences. It is a gift to take a person, sitting in one place, unmoving, and throw them into an entirely different space. To let their eyes see things that have never existed. I grew up listening to country, specifically Dixie Chicks. My mother and I would drive around singing this until we’d eventually go home. Good times :)
