for the writers ask 17. 21. 23 :)
17. post a line from a wip you’re working on.
They’re the movements of someone who’s committed his piece to memory; who knows it by heart, well enough to pause at every space between note and dip with the decrescendo.
21. tell me about another writer or writers that you admire. what is it about them you admire?
see, this question shouldn’t have given me the option to talk about multiple writers. no one stan should have all that power.
i have to say @sonorofserendipity, of course, because not only is she one of my favorite people the entire world, she has this empathy and depth of understanding to her writing that’s truly inspiring to me. one day i want to write stories with that much emotional impact.
@jewishangus, my best friend in the whole wide world, puts a ridiculous amount of heart and soul into her writing. her stories have high stakes with strikingly emotional moments that catch you by surprise and take you out of the action in the most magical way.
and @transdavenport writes like no one i’ve ever met. he not only understands his characters (dav in particular, of course!) but he writes them fearlessly and pushes them to their limits just like we all wish we could. his writing is full of energy and incredible talent.
also, if you’ve ever been able to write consistently, i probably idolize you and will definitely sell you my soul for the secret.
23. do you prefer to listen to music while you’re writing, or do you need silence?
it depends! i’ve found music is good for when i’m writing really moody scenes or ambient descriptions, where as mundane interactions and such are better off accompanied with silence. that said, you can never go wrong with movie and video game soundtracks.
