here is the download for my actions; the one i used for the akotsk gifsets is called "sharper w/o grain" if you don't want to download, the settings are:
1st smart sharpen - amount: 500%, radius: 0.3 px
2nd smart sharpen - amount: 10%, radius: 10 px
camera raw filter - texture: 20, clarity 10
and for my coloring, i usually color each gif differently but for my latest akotsk gifsets i used the same one with some minor adjustments but here is a download if you want to check it out!

... shouldn’t a Weirwood tree just start spontaneously growing at Storm’s End? You know, in case the Weirwood.net and it’s Overgod Bran'thulu decide there needs to be one there in case anyone who follows the Old Gods (or at least should be married within their sight) suddenly decides to show up at Storm’s End out of the blue after a year or two?
hello! first & foremost i want to say that your daenerys headers are literally everything & i love them so much. thank you so much for making them! if it’s too much to ask, by all means just delete this ask, but i was wondering if you could maybe do some coloured variations of those headers (red, pink, yellow, etc)? i would really love to have those headers in different colours other than the orange tones of the scene, but again, if not, they’re perfect as is! thank you again for making them <3

Thank you! I screencap using mpv player and then use this method to load them into Photoshop. And the sharpening i use is 500% 0.3px and then 30% 10px.
Thank you for sharing your sharpening actions! i was wondering how do you sharpen old tv shows like lost or the office for example and the media you have for the show is 1080p and less.

I try not to gif things in 1080p. Definitely never anything under 1080p, just don't bother giffing at that point, sorry... But if I have to do 1080p I try to get the best one I can find with the biggest file size, those are always the better ones.
Below are some sharpening settings I did for The Office and Lost using some of my sharpening setting for these actions.

I used two file sizes for this example:
One file size for the ep is 2.33 GB in 1080p AMZN WEB-DL
The other file size is 789.7 MB in 1080p WEB-DL
No sharpening
Normal
High Pass
Sharper Blur
Sharper w/ grain
Sharper w/o grain

The differences are pretty slight, so I'd say if you are trying to save up space than 789 MB is not a bad choice.

I was curious with Lost cause Lost is filmed differently than The Office so here is Lost for another reference, the file size is 2.70 GB 1080p.
I use two different dimensions bc that makes a difference as well:
Big one is 540 x 450
Small is 540 x 310
No sharpening
Normal
Sharper Blur
High Pass
Sharper w/ grain
Sharper w/o grain
So basically it all comes down to lightning of the scene and what dimension you use. The Office has better lightning than Lost so it'll look much better. Also never forget, your coloring makes a HUGE difference in quality. You can have a 4 GB 4k file but depending on how you color it can turn out to look like 1080/720p low quality gif.
Personally, if I'm using 1080p I usually just use that for small gifs but again, depends on the lightning, file size and how you color.
how do you make the trailers look so high quality in your gifs? I am seriously impressed. and jealous lol
I download them from the hbo site instead of youtube. The quality is always higher quality than youtube. I use this extension to download videos from the hbo site. Probably a better way, but I'm not sure how atm. I will say, if you download with that extension it will add duplicate frames, so you're going to have to manually delete them in photoshop. But luckily it every 4 frames so it's easy.
Also having a good sharpening setting helps and adding a little bit of grain helps too.
