hi!! sun and venus in 12th house cancer, moon in taurus in the 9th. i'm not sure if it counts as fairytale! but either snow white or pocahontas. SW: love and support from the dwarves aka her pals and she sings to the animals. P: deeply connected to her grandmother (same), animals, and i love and admire the rich history of native american culture as a whole

pocahontas isnt a fairy tale as much as a historical account (a very inaccurate historical account at that).  but i understand why you like the disney adaptions!

Hey!! I have gone through the FAQ's but I have no idea how to study. My study notes are just lists, they're so boring I barely learn. How do I combat this? HOW DO I MAKE NICE STUDY NOTES :( plz help xx

Hey there!

What type of subjects are you struggling to take notes for? I have a different note taking method for each class because the way my teachers present their information and class material is different, so I would suggest dividing and categorizing your subjects in order from ‘easiest to study’ to ‘hardest to study”. 

Figure out the best way you soak in information! For that you just need to experiment with different note taking styles. Right now it seems like you’re simply making lists, so I’m assuming they mainly consist of vocab words. I used to do that too, when I wasn’t used to actually studying/revising class notes. If you’re taking notes off a textbook don’t just write down the bolded words and their definitions! Write the section title, and actually write down the concept that you’re trying to study, explain how the concept works, the different equations that you need to know, and include practice problems. I can’t stress how important that is because it actually allows you to see how you apply the concepts you learned into solving something! 

One other really awesome study tip is just to get someone to test you on your knowledge! Hand them your textbook or notes (if they can read your handwriting lol) and just have them ask questions on the content, kind of like a partner quiz! I swear by this method because this is how I always get the conceptual parts on my tests correct because it really forces you to explain the concept to your partner in a way that makes sense. It also forces you to be engaged in studying the material ^.^

One really easy trick to making nice notes is using sticky notes/post-its for practice problems, and use different colored pens for different sections of your notes! For example I use the color blue for chapter titles, light blue for the subsections in each chapter, and green for vocab words that I need to know. Have colorful sticky notes to jot down extra info or equations to add color and dimension to your notes. Having nice pens is definitely a plus and makes making your notes pretty easier, but please don’t break your bank account to buy cute stationary. Just having a couple of different colored pens, highlighters, and post its should be more than enough to make your notes pretty, and if you find that you don’t find studying with pretty notes more effective then at least you haven’t blown your money on stuff that doesn’t even help you right? :)
