It was a rare occurrence for Selina Wydville do venture to the marketplace to buy herbs -- most of them she has already had in her garden, but certain plants were a little more difficult to breed. Not to mention that the good amount of them were poisonous, and, good hearted or nor, she preferred to have a handful of such plants in her reach ( one can never be too certain, and given her reputation which followed from England, it was better to be safe than sorry, even if her safe meant someone else’s demise ). She walked around the market, her eyes assessing the rows of plants, the seeds placed in small containers in front of each pot.
A particular plant caught her eye, and she nearly smiled to herself, meandering her way towards it. She bent down, inhaling the seductive smell, inviting her to buy it, take it home and nurture it. “Hm, Atropa Belladona. Just the little diable I was looking for.” She cooed to the plant, keeping her eyes closed as she inhaled the smell -- for all it’s beauty, the plant was quite toxic.
In that moment she felt someone behind her, but she ignored it in everything but her words, simultaneously deciding to purchase the plant of her interest.
“I hope you did not plan on buying this fine specimen, because, my dear, you shall have to fight me for it, and heed my warning, I do not fight fair.” Selina spoke, a hint of amusement in her voice, yet it was veiled by pure determination. Fight she would, but usually all it took was one cold stare, and people would run away screaming, fearing her curses. At first it quite touched her, but now? Now it amused her to no end.
