Amazing color transformation by Kim Coffin. Our guest wanted to get rid of the red and get to a non-committal color that she will not have to be in the salon touching up all of the time. Her natural level of hair is a beautiful, sandy 7-8, with a good bit of gray just around her face. I decided to do a color melt off of her natural color with heavy hilights around her face. Color transformations like this take multiple appointments, but we got this difficult deep red out to this sandy blonde in one sitting (10+ hours). This is a commitment for both stylist and client. However, being patient for the final end results pays off. Professional reconstructing needs to happen at home, (Tiger Reconstructor) and a strong violet shampoo and conditioner is used at home as well. After a few days or weeks, depending on the amount of color fade, another glaze will be applied to adjust any areas.
