Oh... oh boy. You can see how Takumi's overcorrecting on his lie to Nozomi by doing this. Because he had manipulated her desire to help others to get her on his side, and crushed her hopes when it all came crashing down. And now he's too afraid to get people to come along and help, and rationalising that fear as his responsibility- hell, not even Takemaru and Tsubasa, despite the fact that not only are they okay with him right now, they'd be perfect picks for an exploration team. Takumi, Darumi and Takemaru alone are the original MVPs after all, not even factoring in Tsubasa's buffs. And that's a full party, there!
They would also have been a rational pair of voices to balance the two's eagerness to revive Retsnom, and to fully assess the situation around it- as we'll discover later... that is, if they haven't been eaten alive.
