🏆 CHAMPION!!! Lee, @jenious__, one of the amazing students I had a chance to mentor through martial arts, is an amazing person. Absolute champion on the mat and in life. She's back in Korea now, but I sure miss her. Some people talk a good game but give up, and some people cry and whine through tough times, BUT STILL SMASH EVERY GOAL. She was the latter, and I'd take that over the former everytime. We've had some awesome kids over the years. I tell every single kid and parent that we are going to work on SELF-DEFENSE first, and if you want to compete, then you have to put in the work. In all my years of coaching, I can count on one hand, the kids that DID NOT become champions of some combat sport who put in the time and effort. You see, just as I tell students to never stop learning, I never stop learning. I never stop learning and developing new concepts, new strategies, new methodologies of training, nor do I stop analyzing and studying each student's progress! I-LOVE-THIS-STUFF. I will say, too, that more than gold medals and championships, partaking in the journey with each student and family, is the most rewarding part. Congrats to our very own Colin Nation.
