I don't understand people who like Kylo Ren

Yes, he's an absolutely amazing character. I mean that character development was perfect it had me in tears, but the whole point of Kylo in The Last Jedi is for him to choose power of peace, whereas Rey chooses peace over power. The whole point of Kylo is for him to make the bad desicion and go on to continue the war. Why would anyone like a character that chooses to be powerful over what is right? Why would you like a character that would simply let many many people die because now he has the throne and he can do what he likes? Why would anyone like him? I really don't get it.
