POINTS OF INTEREST
★ Every child of pure magical blood should be entitled to a happy and healthy home, provided by happy and healthy and pure parents. Right? Right. Or so the Lestranges believed. When their own ability to provide a Pureblood heir proved impossible, they turned to the rest of the world, where other poor excuses for Pureblood wizards fell short. This was how they were gifted with their first son, Rodolphus, their second son, Rabastan, and their third child, a daughter, named Winnifred, who became known as Wendy.
★ Though they were a year apart in age, Rabastan and Wendy grew together the same way one might envision a set of twins to develop. Where Rabastan was cynical, Wendy was hopeful. Where Wendy was outgoing, Rabastan was cold. Where Wendy loved structure, Rabastan loved freedom, and it was for that reason that Rabastan decided against returning to Hogwarts after his first year. No matter how much Wendy begged and pleaded and cried, her brother refused, leaving her a little bit lonelier than she’d anticipated being in her first year at Hogwarts.
★ As a Pureblood witch, Wendy was not surprised when, at the young age of twelve, her parents began discussing suitable matches for marriage among the wizards they knew. Their plans came to a screeching halt a few years later when Wendy brought home her first girlfriend. It was only then, when Mr. and Mrs. Lestrange put their schemes on hold, that Wendy realized just how much she hated the idea of having her life planned out for her---especially when it came to something as important as marriage. Since then, Wendy has made a point to bring home as many of her female companions as she can. Of course, she’s still quite keen on boys---but her parents need not know that.
★ One of the activities Wendy enjoyed in her youth was her time on the Winged Horse Equestrian Team at Cambridge Academy. In fact, her bedroom at home is filled with ribbons and trophies of her many successful competitions. But Wendy has since found something a little more exciting than riding horses: broom racing. It isn’t legal, and it isn’t populated with the most reputable crowd, but that’s the thing about it that makes it so exciting for Wendy. It’s the only area of her life where she allows herself to break the rules. Of course, it helps that she’s very good at it, too.
