It’s no surprise most moms consider naptime their favorite time of day; relishing the few quiet and peaceful hours while their babies sleep, but California mom and artist Queenie Liao looks forward to the downtime for an entirely different reason. For Queenie, it’s the perfect opportunity to capture adorable and imaginative photos of her youngest son, Wengenn.

SLEEPING BEAUTY

Ever been in the situation where you've taken home a hot date and your mom decides to share the family album, starring you in your birthday suit? Well, thankfully some mums are more creative (and more mindful of their future teenagers!).

Take Photographer Queenie Liao, mother of three, who has created beautiful art with her sleeping son. The photo series is called “Wengenn in Wonderland” and it rides on the popular trend of taking a sleeping baby and creating amazing art around him/her. For Queenie, she arranges everyday objects like clothes, blankets, toys etc. to create a fascinating world around her napping son, Wengenn.

Beside being total cuteness galore, it is also a lovely example of the wonderlust trend, in which more and more of us are taking the time to be in awe of everyday life.

Wengenn au Pays des Merveilles

Sion Queenie Liao est une artiste freelance installée en Californie, aux Etats-Unis. Mère de trois enfants, elle aime élaborer des œuvres très personnelles, empreintes de rêverie. Costumes, animaux, jungles et navires : d'adorables aventures pensées par la maman ultra-créative.

La série à découvrir dans la suite est un ensemble de mise en scènes de son fils de trois mois, Wengenn. Son envie était de créer des portraits de lui en pleine exploration imaginaire dans un monde inventé de toutes pièces et inspiré des contes de fées. "Je suis reconnaissante de pouvoir partager plus que les photos que j'ai prises, l'inexprimable joie et fierté en tant que mère de pouvoir créer cet album très spécial pour mon fils Wengenn", confie-t-elle.
