Hi, I'm new here! Could you give us a quick rundown on Bite's lore?

(I love him from what I've read already)

[Yeah, of course!

Bite was tapped for spec-ops training on Kamino. After a training session went wrong, another cadet in his cohort was severely injured, and he stepped in to try and help. This event was what caused him to get tapped for his double specialisation and also gave him his name.

As he was split between two training streams, Bite didn't have many close vod'e on Kamino and, as such, has a very mercurial stance towards close relationships with others now.

After graduation he was assigned to Commander Jet's Special Operations battalion under Ki-Adi-Mundi. Bite grew close with Werda Squad over the course of his deployment and was a respected medic and soldier within the battalion.

While out on mission with Werda Squad, he and the others were ambushed and Bite was caught by the Separatists. Because of his spec-ops classification, he was deemed to be worth keeping alive for information.

Over the next couple weeks Bite was tortured and interrogated by the CIS, but refused to break. The only reason that he was eventually rescued was because they were holding a high ranking naval officer at the same location.

His injuries were severe and after he was returned to his battalion, he was almost written off until the Jedi intervened. It took weeks of physio and cybernetic implants to get him back on his feet, but even then he was not healing quick enough to return to his post as a field medic.

Commander Jet caught wind of an open posting on Triple Zero and immediately jumped on the chance to get Bite out of the combat zone. With limited time to prepare, a body that doesn't feel like his own and a mind struggling to move on, Bite has been transferred to join the Coruscant Guard where he will either have to adapt or fail.

And that is a quick run down of Bite lore to date! Everything else about Bite as part of the Guard will be taking over this account the second I finish my fun 3+1 thing.

Reassignment

The woosh of the office door opening breaks the focus of the man sitting behind the desk and announces the new arrival.

CT-8024: Sorry to interrupt, Sir. Sargent Shrike said you wanted to see me?

Cmdr. Jet: Corporal, it is good to see you up! Yes, please sit down. Just give me a second to find the right data pad...

CT-8024, dropping heavily into the chair in front of the desk: Thank you, sir. If I may, what exactly did you want to talk about?

Cmdr. Jet: I won't leave you in suspense. We need to talk about your next posting.

CT-8024: My- what? Would briefing not be sargent Shrike's job? And anyway, I know for a fact that Werda Squad has no upcoming missions on the rosters. I-

Cmdr. Jet: Corporal! Bite, you are right, Werda Squad doesn't have any missions scheduled. But even if they did, you wouldn't be going with them.

CT-8024 *flinching*: Sir, wait, gedet'ye-

Cmdr. Jet: I'm sorry, Bite, but I can't put you back in the field like this vod. It took the General's intervention to get them to let you live in the first place. You were hurt. And it is not your fault. But, vod, you can barely lift your pack right now. Forget the osik your squadmate told me about the way you have been avoiding your own name. It wouldn't be safe for me to put you back out there. For you or your brothers.

CT-8024 (Bite?): Sir, respectfully, I don't see how things would be any different at any other posting. I am a field medic. If you can't put me in the field, I'm deadweight.

Cmdr. Jet: In a war zone, maybe. You aren't going to a war zone. Triple Zero is the home front. If you are seeing combat there, then it won't matter how far you can run. Turns out the Coruscant Guard has got an open medic post, and General Mundi has already signed off on the transfer paperwork.

CT-8024 (Bite): You're sending me to Coruscant? Sir, you can't be serious, I'm a Spec Ops trooper and have one of the best patient survival rates in the battalion!

Cmdr. Jet: You were, vod. And I hope that eventually you will recover enough to reclaim those titles. But for now, this is your best option. You ship out in 2 days on the next supplies shuttle. Collect your new kit from the quartermaster, tie up any loose ends, and say goodbyes.

CT-8024 (Bite.): Sir, yes, sir.

Cmdr. Jet: You have every right to be angry with me, but I just want you safe and Coruscant-

CT-8024 | Bite: Stop. Please.

Cmdr. Jet: Alright. It has been an honour to fight alongside you, Corporal. Ret'urcye mhi.

Cmdr. Jet: Pilots running the pre-flights now, you set?

Bite: Yeah, kit's loaded, and medbay has been informed, so I guess that's it...

Cmdr. Jet: And your goodbyes?

Bite: I said them, barely managed to get Atin to let go this morning *aside* not that I wanted him to...

Sgt. Shrike, walking in: You still have a few more yet vod'ika!

Following in behind are a collection of vod'e, naval officers, and even the General.

Bite: Wha- sir, what is this?

Cmdr. Jet: Well, when I made the announcement you were leaving, a whole lot of people wanted to say goodbye.

CMO, from the crowd: And thank you, vod. You saved most of these people, kid. They wanted you to know how much you mean to this battalion.

Bite: I don't know what to say... vor entye vod.

Cmdr. Jet: N'entye. We owe you, all of us. The Coruscant Guard will be lucky to have you Bite.

CMO: K'oyacyi bal jate'kara.

Bite: Thank you, for everything. Ret'urcye mhi.

Medic 1: Bite! I was wondering where you disappeared to.

Bite: Hey, vod. How are our boys holding up?

CMO: They are fine Bite, you patched up the worst in here yourself. Now, how are you?

Bite, sighing: Well, I'm standing, so that's better than before...

Medic 2: Bite...

Bite: I'm fine, just need to sort out some chart work and talk to the Chief.

CMO: Okay, let's go to my office then-

Bite: No! I mean, no, I'd rather just do this here...

CMO, concerned: What's going on vod'ika?

Bite: I need to transfer my charges, sir. I'm being reassigned to the Coruscant Guard.

Medic 1: Kriff, yeah we've got them covered.

Medic 2: I'd guessed they'd take you out of the field until you could pass physical but a transfer?

Bite: Yeah, I'm out of here tomorrow. Apparently the Corries are short a baar'ur and the Commander and the General jumped on it.

CMO: I knew some vod'e that became Guardsmen, they were skilled verd but I've not heard from any of them in a while...

Medic 2: So you better keep us updated.

CMO: I'll sent thier CMO my note with your file and sort your paperwork, go and finish packing vod'ika.

Bite: Vor'e.

Medic 1: We will miss you, good luck with the Guard, Bite!

Bite: Ret'urcye Mhi anade.

1. Werda Squad

Bite: Sir, did you know?

Atin: Did Shrike know what ori'vod?

SGT. Shrike: Yes, I knew the Commander was going to transfer you.

Hssiss: Bite's getting transferred?

Bite: To Coruscant. Apparently CMDR.Jet decided I am no longer fit for duty.

Atin: But Bite is our medic!

Shrike: And now he is the Guards. I'm sorry Atin but there is nothing we can do.

Hssiss: When do you ship out, vod?

Bite: 36 hours. I've still got to collect my new kit from requisitions and transfer all my patients.

Atin: Then we are having a squad pile tonight. No negotiation.

Bite: Ok vod'ika.

Hssiss: Manda, I can't believe you are leaving...

Atin: You have to comm us every day! Even if just to update us on the number of papercuts you treat!

Shrike: You may wear different paint on Coruscant, but you will always be Werda Squad.

Saying Goodbye

*On the corrie landing pad, seconds after touchdown*

Bite: Dank farrik, I do not remember larty landings being this rough...

Hssiss: Aw, vod'ika, the landing wasn't any rougher than to be expected. You're just feeling them more. You could have strapped in, you know?

Bite: Not a chance, I haven't needed to strap in for a landing since that drop where a seppie EMP took out our systems, and Switch nearly sent us into a mountain.

Switch, from the pilots seat: Hey! We agreed that the mountain wasn't my fault! And anyway, my landing was perfect.

Hssiss: Sure, vod, perfect.

Switch: Bastard...

Manda, Bite was going to miss his vode. The brass wouldn't let the rest of his squad escort him to the surface, so only Hssiss as his corporal and Switch as pilot were given clearance to say goodbye to him. He knew from experience that his squad rarely ever got shore leave, so it would most likely be a long time before he saw them again. As the LAAT/s door started to lower, the finality of it all hit Bite like a speeder.

Bite: You're going to visit me, right? You will still have my comm code too, and I know that you di'kut'e can use a comm and-

Hssiss: Bite, vod'ika, breathe. Yes, we will visit you. Yes, we will comm. We couldn't stop Atin if we tried, you know that. You are going to be ok, Bite, Commander Blackout said, so remember.

Bite: Yeah, I remember.

Switch: It will be ok, Ori'vod! You'll see!

Oh, how Bite hopes Switch is right.
