hi bird i just wanted 2 say tht i lov u and ur writing and i hope you have a wonderful day/night!!
michael werejerk thank u so much i love ur blog and ur art and whenever i see a rat on my dash i think of u
hey bird everything ok? i think u should sleep im concerned (and amused)
it’s only 3pm and everything is fine im just thinking about how michael and jeremy reach a zoombini level where it looks like michael cant get through because he was born with glasses. michael urges jeremy to go on without him. jeremy says no. never. not without you, michael.
*hops in to contribute to the language talk* my native language is slovene but im way more comfortable with english so i Very Often try to translate english sentences into slovene in my head irl but like? i translate them as i Speak w/o thinking about the different sentence structures so the words are in the same order in both versions and those are... incomprehensible messes (i hope this is on topic and makes sense ahsdfn im very tired rn ashhfds)
ohhhh!!! this is interesting!! i have the same problem, not with verbally speaking, but with formal/creative writing. i can speak and switc from english to tagalog perfectly fine, but for the life of me, i cant write directly in tagalog. i have to write everything out first in english and then theres the painstaking venture of translating everything.
i dont go word by word because youre right, thatd totally just come out as. a mess. but sometimes i hit a roadblock in translating the entire meaning of one sentence that i DO just translate word per word and try to pick and choose which bits i can keep and then just build from the scraps hhjsdhfkdf. this results in all my writing in tagalog to be readable but overall very clunky. like, idk if this is just me, but you can tell when something has been translated from english instead of being directly written/said into the current language, no matter how well the translation is done. it’s in like….the vibe….or the feel….or the…something….
