Wervik, Belgium. A closer view of a group of school children. The building used for a school is only half large enough to accommodate the children, and the A.R.C. is sending a hut to enlarge it. The city had 10,000 population before the war, nearly half of which has returned; being several miles from the actual front, the buildings in Wervick were not completely destroyed . 1919 Lewis Wickes Hine.
