Pablo had sent his employees home early. Business was often slower during the week even during the summer and his employees appreciated the break. It’d been thirty minutes since Pablo had had his last customer come in and he’d busied himself with clean the shop and tidying up their various displays of treats. Once he’d fiddled with enough things he decided to head outside and have a quick smoke break as he debated whether or not to just close up early that night.
Pablo kept an eye on the door as he smoked and was about halfway through his cigarette when he saw a man approaching. He quickly snuffed out his cigarette so he could attend to his shop. “We’re still open,” Pablo called out after the man as he entered the shop before him and was about to be greeted by a completely empty store. He followed in after them and quickly made his way behind the counter. He went to the sink to wash his hands after his cigarette but had his body turned towards the man as he did so. “Sorry, it’s been a slow night,” he explained as he quickly dried his hands off. He was usually much more professional. “How can I help you tonight?”
