"Remember, you've got an hour long set. You'll get paid when the band gets here, and if they're late, you'll be paid extra for every single after that hour."
Lachlan nods his head as he listens to the bar owner. It wasn't often that he got to do such long sets, especially at bars where it seemed like every local musician wanted a chance. But he wasn't going to turn away the opportunity to get himself out there.
"No problem. And thank you again!"
"No problem. Now get up there, it's getting quiet in here."
Lach doesn't need any further encouragement as he hops up onto the stage. It's small, yeah, but there's just enough room for him and his guitar. Perfect.
"Hello. How're we doing tonight?" He speaks into his microphone. The 9 people sitting in the bar pay little to no attention to him.
"Alright!"
This was going to be rough.

Hannah couldn't help but feel like she's been falling too far into a routine, and a boring one.
Kill, fuck, sleep seems to be her goals lately, and given her inability and refusal to let herself fall into routine, she's taken it upon herself to do the very opposite of those three things she's been doing so frequently. She won't kill the first person who manages to piss her off, she won't spontaneously fuck the first person her curious eye lands on, and she'll stay up late until the sun rises at dawn no matter what.
Even if she has to set a rooster right next to her damn bed so it cries out every time her eyes droop.
Thankfully, with her spirits still lifted with determination and her senses in need to be dulled, she wanders to the closest bar she can find to see if she can drink away the itch for a kill instead. She asks the bartender to surprise her with something with a bit of a kick, and she knows his eyes linger a bit longer on her than normal. But then again, when do they not?
A gloved hand taps the bar counter, and she can’t help the way the corners of her lips twitch up into an amused smile. The poor guy up on stage had a tough crowd. Maybe she could sit for a song or two.
After all, he was easy on the eyes.
