And then the descent. The summit is optional. Getting back down is mandatory. This is always the most dangerous part. Platitudes like "slow is smooth and smooth is fast" can actually help keep you alive and save heartache and annoyance along the way. Fortunately @mhfuhrer isn't prone to rushing. It was windy so we stacked our ropes rather than throwing them out into space where they'd likely get stuck. We simul-rapped so that we could stay together on the descent and move more rapidly. Having a well developed partnership means that you can do things together that require a little more commitment. Like rapping off either side of the rope and splitting your descent time! We hadn't tried it before but we discussed it in detail beforehand. In some ways I feel like it can be safer because you have two sets of eyes on each of the rappelling setups respectively. There's constant communication and moving together so everything is very deliberate. 10 out of 10, would simulrap again. #climbing #weshootmirrorless #neverstopexploring #type1diabetes #fujifilm #x100f #fujifeed

@on_dresss getting after it on the rock. For both of us, the challenges of #type1diabetes are best met with a creative focus on something bigger and more valuable. Our discussion of the pricing of survival (insulin) was a lot darker and definitely gave me new appreciation for the will to keep on going. I'm hoping this #BantingsGhost project will not only draw attention to the insulin access crisis but will also build community around the ways we see people respond under pressure. #climbing #weshootmirrorless #fuji #x100f #getoutstayout
