I visited the Rogerson Clematis Garden a couple of weeks ago.
The garden is tiny - just an acre or so surrounding a farm house - but it includes more than 900 species of clematis, making it the most comprehensive collection in a public garden in North America.
Late May is not peak clematis season, but the garden was already gorgeous and well worth the short trip from Portland. The garden is open from dawn to dusk every day, and is free to visit. (Bonus: If you live in the area and have a garden, volunteers are onsite selling clematis plants several days each week.)
