Buying a home is one of the best feelings in life. You gain security and stability for yourself and your family as well as building wealth over time. When you own your home you have the freedom to renovate and update on your terms and to your liking. You may find that your monthly mortgage payment is lower than what you are paying in rent. Looking at it from a different perspective, you are paying a mortgage either way. Why not pay your own mortgage and gain wealth over the years.
Buying a home is easy when you follow this simple checklist and have the right professionals on your side throughout your entire purchase.
1- Contact a Realtor like me who has years of experience and knowledge. We have the team of professionals already in place to make your home purchase easier.
2- Contact the mortgage lender your Realtor recommends. We have an extensive list of mortgage professionals we know and trust and if you are being your first home we will guide you to the right person for you.
3- Follow the advice of the mortgage professional. Maybe your credit isn't where it needs to be and the mortgage pro advises you pay down or pay off some debt. Do it. They know what needs to be done to get you where you need to be to buy. They may also have some down payment assistance programs you can use so following their advice is key.
4- Looking at homes with your Realtor is fun and exciting but without steps 2 & 3 you will not get to that point. We need to know what type of loan you are getting and what price range you are comfortable with. Not every home qualifies for all loan types and we need to have that information before you start looking at houses.
5- Making your offer. We will look at the recent sales in the neighborhood and compare the home you want to buy to those sales. We will work together to come up with an offer that will be appealing to the seller and get you the best price possible.
6- Contract to Closing. We will be with you through your inspections, appraisals, survey and title and lien search. We will be there to insure you have the nest experience possible and that you are protected legally. A Realtors #1 job is to protect the public. We actually take an oath to do so.
