Found the Westcrest pub where I spent my childhood after watching my dad play football (to Americans - soccer) and hurley for the GAA. ~ It’s been renamed, the pool table and Donkey Kong game are gone, and there’s no Irish music playing. ~ It smells the same somehow and I swear I can see the ghosts of my memories sitting around the bar talking in Irish brogues. ~ Since I wasn’t allowed to drink in here as a kid I’m raising a Guinness now - to my dad, his teammates, our community and our country.
