They Speak for the Trees
Just arrived for the new book shelf, these three books describe the domination and destruction of forests by humans across centuries and cultures in two different hemispheres. The “trouble” for trees, as explained by Daniel Mathews, is not directly due to extraction or forest mismanagement, as Ian Miller and David Fedman describe, but is just as surely attributable to human activities that disrupt the ecosystem with devastating results.
