Week3: Croquetta, Tortilla Española, Paella Negra . . . . . #vsco #vscocam #vscogood #vscofood #vscoph #western2 (at LPU Culinary Institute)
Western
It was a boring day for Adam. Same customers for the same things and he was getting bored off it. He wanted change, he wanted to leave this same boring town and get out there. Ride until he found some where to sleep, eat from local people and just go in to the sunset with someone. But he had no partner, he had no friend and he was stuck in his barber’s shop.
Crowley was the most wanted outlaw in the entire state and he had a knack for avoiding any authorities. His dark shaggy hair was falling just below his ears, his hat black with small bullet holes and scortch marks, his button up shirt was a dark gray with a bit of blood smeared across it, his pants were dusty, his boots work, and his long overcoat beaten and tattered but someone he managed to look both sexy and terrifying.
Adam was cleaning his tools in the back room when he heard the door’s bell ring “Just one moment please” he called.
Crowley smirked and leaned against the wall with his hat tipped down over his face, just the tip of his cigarette and a trial of smoke visible.
Adam stepped around the corner looking down as he dried off his tools “What can I help you with?”
“Just a trim…and a shave.” He tipped his hat up and smirked.
Adam dropped his tools in shock as he realised who it was “I-I’m sorry…” he mumbled, leaning down too pick them up “I can… I can do that for you” he nodded.
Crowley grinned and sat up, putting his cigarette out on his shoe. “Got a trash can?”
Adam pointed to the bin in the far corner and stepped over to a chair. “I erm… you can sit here… for the cut” he nodded looking down at the floor.
Crowley flicked his cigarette into the bin and sat down in the chair.
Adam put the cape around Crowley and tied it on the back with shaky hands. “Erm… did you just… sorry, what did you want?” he asked nervously.
“You should listen more…I want a trim and a shave.” He winked at Adam in the mirror.
Adam swallowed “sorry” he mumbled, taking out his scissors “Could you erm… your hat”
Crowley pulled his hat off and set it in his lap.
Adam smiled a thankyou and set to work trimming his hair. Her worked fast, taking her between two fingers and cutting about an inch off the end. It only took about 10 minutes for him to finish his hair and gather up his things ready to shave his jaw.
Crowley ran a hand through his hair and nodded. “You do nice work Mr…errr…I didn’t catch your name?”
“Adam” he mumbled spreading the foam over his jaw.
“Good to meet you, Adam. Judging by the way your hands are shaking you know who I am.” He looked at him in the mirror with a toothy grin.
Adam froze and looked up, meeting his eyes in the mirror.
“Calm down, Adam. You’re the one with a razor to my throat.” He chuckled.
Adam moved the razor away with wide eyes shaking his head “I wasn’t… I wasn’t going to do anything” he stammered.
“Never said you would. I was just saying you have nothing to worry about.” He sucked in a sharp breath.
Adam blinked and went back to his work, carefully scraping the razor up his skin in smooth strokes until he finished.
Crowley sniffed and smiled as he stood up. “Thank you Adam.”
Adam nodded and winced as he gripped the razor, cutting a line down the middle off his hand.
Crowley frowned and walked closer to him, grabbing the razor and setting it on the table. “You should be more careful.”
Adam frowned up at him “It was an accident” he snapped.
Crowley narrowed his eyes slightly and leaned back, tilting his head.
Adam’s eyes widened “I-I… I didn’t mean too… I’m sorry I s-shouldn’t have snapped… sir”
“You should be more careful.” He said flatly.
“You should be more careful” he grumbled in reply. “I could easily go tell the sheriff you’re in here”
Crowley pulled a gun out and cocked it. “Excuse me?” He asked, aiming it for Adam’s head.
Adam took in a sharp breath and stared at the end off the gun “I have a family” he whispered, hoping Crowley would believe him and lower the gun.
“Do you think things like that change my mind!?” He snarled.
Adam blinked and lowered his eyes “I wasn’t being serious about the sheriff”
Crowley kept his gun aimed. “Maybe I’ll shoot you just for the hell of it.”
“I could have cut your throat… but I didn’t” he replied, seeming much calmer.
“You wouldn’t have the balls to.” He growled.
Adam tilted his head and a slight tapping could be heard. He had drawn the razor out and was tapping it against the metal studs on the inside of Crowley’s thigh.
Crowley narrowed his eyes. “You think you could kill me before I emptied this gun into your skull?”
“It wont kill you… but it will mean you can’t fuck again. And I’ve heard how much you love whores… men or women” he said raising an eyebrow.
Crowley watched him and swallowed nervously before holding his gun up and setting it on the table, holding his hands up in defeat.
Adam pushed him back against the wall and reached over to draw the blinds, not breaking eye contact at all. “I’m fed up with outlaws like you coming in here and thinking you’re the shit… I handle my knives every day, have done for the past 15 years… who do you think has the most experience in their profession… Mr Crowley?”
Crowley laughed and stared at him. “I’m 38, Adam. I’ve been an outlaw since I was 16…and I’m considered the most wanted man in the state and possibly the country. Answer your own question.” He said smoothly.
Adam swallowed and his hand’s faltered slightly “You’re still not as good with a gun as I am with my knives. You spend all your time in bars or brothels” he snapped.
“Which means I’m a damn good lay.” Crowley said with a smirk and lazy eyes, obviously not threatened at all by Adam.
Adam swallowed and stepped a few paces away from him, suddenly blushing.
“Oh and by the way…” Crowley grabbed his gun and fired right into the dot of the I on a sign on the wall. He grinned and watched Adam.
Adam rolled his eyes ” Why are you still even here?” he grumbled.
“Mainly because you tried to cut my balls off.” He said with a grin.
Adam shrugged and looked down “Most off the times that get’s the idiots out… I’ve never actually done it before”
Crowley chuckled. “Well I’m not just some idiot.”
“What do I have to cut off then?” he said raising an eyebrow.
Crowley chuckled. “You cut my hair…is that not good enough for you?”
Adam bit his lip and rubbed the back off his neck “I don’t want anything from you”
“Is that so?” He asked, stepping forward a bit.
Adam let out a shaky breath and tried to step back but he was already at the wall.
Crowley placed both hands on either side of Adam’s face. “You look like the kind of guy who’s itching to go on an adventure, aren’t you?”
Adam’s eyes widened at how well Crowley had read him, as he shook his head a little.
Crowley leaned back and frowned. “Oh…sorry…I guess I’ll be on my way then.” He shrugged. “I was looking for a partner to travel with.”
“Travel with” he questioned, stepping forward with interested eyes. “Travel where?”Crowley smirked. “I’m looking to go down into Mexico where I’m not so well known.”
“I like Mexico” he mumbled, biting his lip and trying to seem less interested.
“You haven’t been there.” crowley said with an eyeroll. “But the trip is too far to go alone.”
“I want to go”
Crowley grinned. “Good.”
Adam beamed at him and surged forward to hug him “Thank you, thank you, thank you” he repeated under his breath.
