The night twinkled around them with thousands of lights strung across the venue. The air buzzed with soft conversation and the relaxing music of the string quartet. Tables speckled the open area, all with candle filled lanterns as centerpieces and white table clothes. Guests milled around, catching up with friends or relatives. 

The ceremony brought a tear to everyone’s eye, even Tim’s, though Lucy knew he’d never admit it. It was romantic, with personalized vows and beautiful poems recited. The perfect way for Angela Lopez and Wesley Evers to be joined together. 

As the guests took their seats for dinner and dancing, Lucy could not help but feel herself caught up in the ambiance, in the splendor and emotion of this day. There was never a more deserving couple of eternal happiness together than Angela and Wesley. And though Lucy had only known them a handful of months, it didn’t take a genius to see it. 

“Such an odd and invasive question,” Lucy said evenly from her seat next to Tim. They’d found their names quickly, and decided to sit and immerse themselves in their own conversation. He’d just asked her where she had hidden her gun. Of all the questions Tim could have posed, or statements he could have made, this had not been at the top of her list. 

Okay, maybe she didn’t have to have gone as hard as she had. But Lucy had wanted to make an impression on literally every lieutenant under Tim’s command. A wedding was a major event, the first they’d been too since meeting. Lucy had carefully braided her hair, pinning just so, and letting the rest of the brown strands fall forward over her shoulders. The deep wine red shade she’d chosen for her lips had been perfect, if she did say so herself. Not to mention the emerald green dress she’d bought just for this occasion, with a plunging neckline and long, flowy skirt. 

Lucy knew she looked damn good. And knew Tim knew she looked damn good. Yet his random question surprised her. 

“I don’t know whether I should be offended that you’re more concerned about that than how I look tonight.” 

“I’m just curious. Since I know you keep one on you at all times.” 

“I do,” Lucy nodded. “But I figured, this is a wedding. I could be a little more subtle.” 

Tim sucked in a breath. “Fuck, you have the knives don’t you?”

Lucy’s painted lips curled up in a smile that might have been mistaken for happiness, but indeed was devious. “I do. It’s Angela’s wedding, Tim. I figured the gun could stay home for a night.”

Tim didn’t respond, as in that moment a server arrived with a tray of champagne. Large hands carefully grabbed two delicate flutes and set one in front of Lucy. 

“You do look incredibly beautiful,” Tim said softly. “I apologize if I haven’t said it enough.” 

Lucy hid her next smile behind her champagne, taking a sip of the bubbly liquid. Expensive champagne, good champagne. 

“It’s okay,” Lucy replied. “I see where your priorities lie.” 

She was teasing, mostly. The first words out of Tim’s mouth when he’d picked her up had been: You are the most fucking gorgeous woman I have ever seen. Which, to some, might be crass, but to Lucy they might as well have been declarations of love. 

“I have to think about something else,” Tim murmured. “Or else I would be doing something absolutely indecent to you on top of this table.” 

Okaaayyy. Even better. 

Lucy’s cheeks flushed, and she tried with all her might to bite back yet another smile. She wasn’t successful. 

“But...” Tim continued. “... as it turns out, I can’t talk about you and weaponry either. Guns, knives...” He trailed off, taking a fortifying sip from his own champagne. 

“Oh. I see,” Lucy said. “So, you would be interested to know that I currently have three of my most favorite knives strapped to my thigh.” 

Tim squirmed in his chair. “Dammit, Luce...” 

“You asked, Timothy.”

Yes I ship Haggie since he healed her in episode one. 🤷🏻‍♀️ why? Their chemistry, their relationship, the way they comfort each other and the way they tease. The fact that he makes her a special breakfast every morning and because she sometimes calls him Har; when everyone else calls him Harry. The shoulder pats, the pinky holds, “let love be your strength”, and “let me take her pain.” The hugs, her inviting him to be apart of the family. The looks and standing so close they’re practically joined at the hip. Because episodes 1x09(jingle hell) 1x10 (keep calm and Harry on) and 1x17 (surrender) exist. Because of the many eye rolls that follows everything she says, because she once pouted at him and he couldn’t resist her charms. They’re my otp for charmed and they ruined me for the characters to be with anyone else 😂😭
