To my dearest, Johnny Depp
Honestly, I have no idea where to start, I have so much to say, but you would be here all day reading this. So, I’m just going to cut it down, and say thank you. Thank you seems such a small phrase for what it could mean, because what you mean to me is infinite. You are so strong, and such an effortlessly generous person. The characters you create and portray are just fantastic, they’re so different and unique but achieve the same goal every time: they make people smile, they make me feel something that put butterflies in my stomach. From Jack Sparrow, to Edward Scissorhands, to Gilbert Grape, the Mad Hatter, even Ed Wood, I could make the list go on forever. They are so relatable and weirdly comforting. They give me a reason to smile, and I’ve learnt to embrace and accept my character, even if it is slightly mad, or quirky; which is something that I’ve never thought I’d been able to do before. Of course, we all have flaws, but what man doesn’t? we are all human, we aren’t machines that can be controlled and manipulative, if we were, what a boring world we would live in, huh? You taught me that.
And of course, how can I forget the fact that you, on top of all people, have helped me through my mental health. Now, I have a confession to make: for months, even years, I never realised and appreciated how much you have helped me, indirectly. I’ve spent so long thinking that I’m just a stupid teenager whose words make no difference, and that I should behave the way people want me to. But fuck that, you’ve taught me to not give a shit what people think. You’ve taught me so much it’s such a blessing, and I don’t think thank you is a big enough phrase, as I said before. You’re a magnificent actor and an absolutely brilliant musician. I absolutely adore Hollywood Vampires, and I’m saving up for the day that they come to the UK so I can meet Alice, Joe and especially you. You’re a brilliant guitarist Johnny, you need to give yourself more credit dude! I’ve heard you play, I watched Alice Coopers Christmas pudding and man, I think I admire you even more after that. You’re so modest, and selfless, and humble and I love that about you. And I love that you’re shy. It sounds like such an abnormal compliment, but in my eyes, shy people are so interesting, admirable and open minded to how the world works.
You’re so generous, and kind hearted and everything that I’ve ever loved in somebody. The fact that you make peoples dreams come true when you visit them in hospital makes me admire you even more, because who doesn’t want to meet Captain Jack?? You’re my idol and my inspiration, there’s not a day that goes by where I don’t think of how much you mean to me. You’re so special, and you deserve all the happiness in the world, because you’ve never given up on us, and we’ll never give up on you, there are so many more of us than you probably know. I know that you went through hell, for a false allegation that is so shitty and messed up, I feel so much pity for you love, but you know, you must go through the bad moments to really appreciate the good ones. You’ve come out stronger and you’ve become happier, which makes me happy. The number of friends I have made through supporting you has made me so much more confident, it’s one of the best things that have happened to be, it’s made me a better person. And above all I’m so proud of how far you’ve come, always have and always will be. You shine, you glow, so keep shining you crazy diamond. we are with you!
