Another Newburgh New Beer Release Today!

The 2013 Harvest Ale, nicknamed #BlurredBines will be released at 4:00pm today at the Newburgh Taproom, and no you don't have to twerk to get some.  This beer is made using all local hops from around the Hudson Valley from Pine Island, Walden, New Windsor, Washingtonville & Salisbury Mills and clocks in at just 4% ABV, to keep only the bines blurry.  Read more about it here and get this fresh and local-as-hell pale ale before it's gone.  If you didn't have enough reason to come on release day, there will also be a Randall (basically a filter) of fresh hops that the Cream Ale will be poured through, so you can really see how a freshly hopped beer tastes. I also just read on Newburgh's Facebook page that Thursday night will feature some guest bartenders (instead of the normal Sunday) to benefit what looks like a local fireman, so even though I'm not sure what it's about, I will be heading down there then instead of today.  It's always nice to help out someone in addition to trying some sweet new brews. Fat Head's x Victory Brewing Collaboration - United

We recently collaborated with Victory Brewing Company's brewmaster, Bill Covaleski, on a unique brew we're categorizing as a "palesner". United started with a pilsner malt base, then we hopped it like an American pale ale with 120lbs of fresh undried Citra hops straight from the vine.

Fresh hops are only available in the fall right after the years hop crop is harvested, so keep an eye out for United as well as Hop Stalker IPA, Fat Head's other fresh hop beer.
