THANOY - Update
So, it's been two years now since I released The Here and Now of Yesterday. The newest copy of it still has a few things I'd like to change - if possible I'd like to use only non-copyright music and maybe change a bit of the progression: that is, make things a little easier to find (like the hidden sex dungeon) and progression flow a bit more, some extra input/interaction from Emi as well as a block or two (maybe).
On the other hand, October is coming, which means a new Map Madness game to make - the third in the series. Which I am very much looking forward to - let's say I have... plans~ ^.^
I'd also like to go back to WETSS and fix up a few little things that apparently make the game a little harder than it should be.
I've also been thinking about whether or not to incorporate death/game overs into the series. As it stands, thus far I've not done so, instead opting to move the player back instead of dying.
The main reason for non-death is due to Emi being in the Spirit Realm during these games, so her physical body would be untouched by the evils she encounters, and her mental 'body' would remain unharmed due to the protection afforded to her by her immense powers. Granted, she can be scarred by the events that she witnesses, and trapped if she's not careful, but while in the Realms she is safe.
Which is why I'm asking opinions on this. I could create game overs where she becomes trapped, but I do want the games to be a challenge without punishing the player for making the wrong choice. I'd like them to remain free-roam without the player worrying that if they go the wrong way they'll lose. I aim for the tension to remain in-game, in-world instead of breaking immersion by making it dependent on it being a game.
So... opinions?
