argon lockhorn ( father ) : was a capitol boy born and bred . he had a pretty tough family , they came from a long line of peacekeepers but were always supporters of president snow and the capitol . it was only in the recent generations that the lockhorn family shifted from peacekeepers to tribute trainers .
lennox lockhorn ( uncle ) : her uncle was a peacekeeper and was often assigned to command the troops in district eleven . however when he realised the oppression of the citizens and the capitol’s abuse of power , he attempted to start a rebellion . but it was quickly shut down and one of those to who he confessed his plans of gradual usurpation betrayed him to their commander and he was executed .
004 . BACKGROUND
kiara grew up in an affluent household , the lockhorn name was well - regarded and extremely well - known around the capitol . they were very rich and were well - connected with those in power . so it was pretty easy for the lockhorn family to bend others to their will , of course as a child , kiara had no idea of the power of her name nor did she have any awareness on her family’s malicious manipulation of others . as a child , she was happy , there was nothing she lacked .
she grew up under the constant scrutinising eye of her grandmother who was basically the one who raised her ( since her mother was busy with the dress shop and her father was busy with working in president snow’s cabinet ) it was her grandmother who taught her proper manners and conversation etiquette . being an adventurous kid , who wanted to play in the rain and had no fear of getting her dresses muddy , conforming to the capitol norms was hard for her . it was because of this which sparked her detestation for the capitol . she hated the propriety it all , it was so constricting and suffocating .
she never saw herself as an escort , she always hated the games . her family always watched it together every year and they would place bets on who would win and cheer on the death of those they. despised . it disgusted her and she was revolted by it . she was always forced to watch it by her mother but she would often pretend to be sick and bed - ridden so that she didn’t have to watch it .
