i love that you did that and bc you're special, you get buck and tommy's first interaction and casually awestruck buck! (buck is eddie's trainer, sal is tommy's trainer and they are at bobby's gym)
“Don’t mind him, he’s an idiot,” The man says and Buck finds himself nodding and ignoring Sal’s indignation. “I’m Tommy, Tommy Kinard.”
Buck takes his hand, it’s so big. “I know who you are!”
“You do?” Tommy smiles and damn, it’s a good smile.
“There are uh, pictures of your wins next to Bobby’s office.”
Tommy blushes. Buck made him blush? Wow. “Oh, I didn’t know.”
“He-He’s super proud and he should be,” Buck rambles, feels his heart racing at the way Tommy’s eyes soften and his smile widens. “I saw your fights and you were awesome!”
“I’ve been doing this a long time, it’s nothing.”
“Nothing? The way you won that fight in 2016 with just one hit was nothing?! Come on, you were so cool!”
Tommy’s eyes glint with something. His hand is sweating and Buck looks down to see that he’s still holding the other man’s hand. He immediately drops it, flexing his fingers to mask the loss. “Sorry.”
The man’s smile just grows bigger and he puts his hands on his hips. Buck forces himself to not let his eyes stray from his face, not to focus on his large biceps or his broad chest. “Don’t worry about it. Buck, was it?”
“Evan Buckley.” He reaches out his hand again only to pull it back to his side with a groan. He feels his cheeks get hot at Tommy’s chuckle.
“Nice to meet you, Evan,” And damn, his name does sound good with his voice. “Maybe I can teach you that kick one day.”
He’s nodding before Tommy even finishes talking. “Y-Yeah, that would cool.”
