helloooooo
I know my tumblr has been DEAD for a couple months (sorry about that ASHSDGHFJD) - life got SUPER crazy whacko busy (we bought a house?? okay??) and things are only now sort of getting back to a usual routine
I have also been struggling with a creative slump kinda. Like I WANT to write but... just... the worms aren't cooperating. I don't have that "itch" to write right now, the flow isn't coming naturally. It's really frustrating. It's like I desire SO strongly to be in that headspace for writing and it's just not coming to me. I don't know why or what I can do about it. Really shitty timing too given I'd started a new longfic & I have a few fandom event obligations... worms, come back to me... ples...
so basically this is just a proof of life post to say hey to the 3 people that look at my tumblr and say I'm not dead or gone, I'm just like... drifting? Waiting for a hyperfixation to grip or re-grip me and for the creative energy to start working again. until then I'm just chilling ig
I return to the realm with a gift. An offering, one might say, after leaving you all as abruptly as I did.
Pet the kitty?
pet the kitty!
no, touch the beans!

Low key I wanna take a ceramics class so I can expand my screen-accurate mug collection by hand
I know this is financially irresponsible and they would not actually be screen accurate, but apparently I yearn to play with mud
just remembered s2 could have shane driving from montreal to ottawa with a buttplug to surprise the love of his life
Years ago, my aunt bought me the pattern for my our clan sweater from an Irish aran sweater maker (just the pattern, not the kit)
Recently, I've been wanting to make a heavily cabled sweater. When browsing Ravelry for patterns, I remembered the clan sweater and it is perfect (except that it's pieced and I'm used to working in the round but maybe this will be the time I follow directions).
Now all I need is yarn.
The locally produced aran weight yarn is reasonably priced, but only comes in white or off-white. Reasonable option is to buy a kilo of that, some dye, and be on my way for about 100$.
The other option is to buy some donegal tweed yarn from my favourite local yarn store in a beautiful colour (I'm thinking either 1745, 4814 or 4713) - almost twice the price, but it is softer and more next-to-skin friendly. Downside of this option is I would have to wait until after Christmas (which has the upside of a big purchase at a LYS during a slow period of the year....)
Thoughts?
What do?
Why wait! Take advantage of the chance to dye some yarn!
It's worth waiting for the fancy stuff!
