Another illustration for What Doesn't Break that I meant to get to like a year ago! Laudna and Sybil. 🐺❤️

The thing is right, obviously they do keep the stream and animated continuities separate even if there's inevitably some bleedover, and WDB is of course in the former—but even still? It is SHOCKINGLY easy to reconcile Laudna's surprisingly beefy role in this episode with it, because it takes place in the like ~2 year span of time at the start of her unlife that Laudna in the book just sort of...disassociates through in like a paragraph. That period between her rebirth and Delilah's final death is when Laudna's sense of self is at its weakest and her memory is at its most unreliable—she doesn't even have her name yet, and sure enough it's never actually used within this episode. What we see here in LoVM S4 is a rare moment of lucidity that she will not remember, and Delilah will make sure of that once Laudna goes from being a tertiary asset of hers to being her only remaining way to influence the world.

I've been seeing people talking about the gold cuffs in Vex's ears, comparing them to Laudna's, and saying that maybe now that we've seen Vex wearing them it's a trend and that's why Laudna wears them. And babes...

I'll take the little gold cuffs, little pointed ear gold cuffs off. I wear these to hide it, because people get all gagged out about it, but they cut my ears to make them pointy, to further match whatever warning signal that I was. - Marisha, episode 17 of campaign 3

From Marisha/Laudna herself. She wears them to hide her docked ears! Couldn't it be, maybe, that Vex was so moved by the existence of Laudna, a girl that looks so much like her and suffered at the hands of Delilah because of her...
