Send “Please, no!” for my muse to murder yours in a drabble.
Sans was being oddly quiet right now.
He had invited Latte to a date at the MTT restaurant, managed to get the two of them a table all to themselves, all so that he could have a chat with them... Or so he claimed.
But now... he wasn’t speaking at all, just looking at them with those eerie little pupils of his.
It was hard for them to tell since Sans was always grinning, but the one he sported now seemed more sinister than his usual one, the edges curling up in a way that promised nothing good. In addition, when did he borrow Papyrus’ scarf...?
To do something to deal with the deafening silence between the two of them, the child reached out and grabbed one of the complimentary rolls to nibble on. Tasted... bitter and salty? They chalked it up to it being just another quirk of MTT-brand foods; after the glitter-and-sequin-covered burger, they wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case.
That finally seemed to prompt Sans into speaking.
“So,” When did his voice turn so high-pitched and nasally? “here we are. Nice place, isn’t it? I hear the food’s good. Care to confirm that?”
They shook their head, scrunching their face down at the rest of the rolls... An action that they didn’t feel as much as they should have. “Nuh-uh.” Their tongue suddenly felt heavy and sluggish in their mouth. “I think... maybe Mettaton had something to do with the recipe for them.”
“Mmm... It’s possible.” Sans leaned back in his chair and, from one of his jacket pockets, he drew out a stoppered vial full of some sort of white, powdery substance. Latte’s breath picked up at the sight of it... Or, maybe, they only thought that was the reason. “Or someone else could have tampered with it instead.”
At a nearby table, a monster abruptly wheezed, hands darting up to claw at their throat as though that might help more precious oxygen get into their system. After a short while, they collapsed, head thunking heavily down onto the table, leaving their date or friend or whatever to panic and try to shake them back into consciousness.
Latte slowly turned their head back to... “Sans”, eyes open wide, horrified. “What...” They were having trouble speaking now, feeling like every breath spent on words was a breath wasted. “What did you do...?”
“Cyanide.” He answered simply, sounding as though he was proud of himself. “Quick, deadly, and brutal. Was a simple enough matter to sneak into the kitchen and slip some into some dough a cook wasn’t paying much attention to. The fact that some monsters happened to be caught up in this only made this little show even better for me.”
The last thing they saw before they too succumbed to the poison was the skeletal grin unmistakably warping into a twisted leer as the thing sharing their friend’s visage silently gloated over his handiwork.
