enjolras ends up there because ey always insists on being the last one bailed out if people get arrested at protests and that the group uses their bail fund for everyone else first so it’s 3am by the time ey gets out of jail.
ey runs into feuilly who desperately needs food and coffee but is worried he’ll fall asleep if he goes home, and he has a shift at his other job at five, so he came to get food. (feuilly was at the protest too but didn’t get arrested.)
grantaire ends up there completely separately because he’s been drinking but the bar closed and he hasn’t felt like going home and decides to get something to eat
he runs into eponine with bonus kiddos who are all out to avoid their parents.
