In this dream, I was at the store trying to decide between some different decorative crafts to make and put together. One thing was a bird and other nature pieces, while the other thing was seashells and other beach themed, nature pieces. I was wearing a light blue dress and a white sweater. As I was standing there deciding between the bird and the sea shell, I felt the presence of two people at the end of the isle watching me. I tried to ignore them, and kept on with my decision making process. Their presence got heavier and heavier, as they didn't stop watching me. There was a woman; she was tall, with darker hair and I don't really remember her features, as that happens with dreams. There was also a guy, right around my age, in what looked to be a navy jump suit. He had dark, shaggy hair and a scruffy face, not the best looking but not hideous. He had an overwhelming smile as he watched me decide between these things, the bird and seashells. Not an overwhelming smile in the creepy way, but in an endearing way. He came up to me, as I had the seashells and bird in my hands, and put the bird down. He was still smiling and he said, "who are you trying to fool? we all know you like the beach more." And I smiled and felt an immediate comfort as our hands touched as he took the bird and set it down. And he hugged me, and I felt an extreme sense of happiness. And even though I couldn't place him, I felt as if I knew it. But I said, "I'm sorry but..where do I know you from?" He smiled and said, "well..walk with me." And instead of my usual discomfort of walking with people I don't know I felt compelled to, excited to almost. The woman stayed ahead of us, close enough to show her presence, yet far enough to give a fake sense of privacy. The guy went on to explain something very odd. He said, "in a way, you've known me all your life, and I you, because I am a part of you. You see, every soul has four separate parts: a fortunate male, a fortunate female, an unfortunate male, and an unfortunate female. I, in this case, am the unfortunate male counterpart of you, the fortunate female." I said, "I...I..don't understand. You don't seem to be unfortunate. Something about you seems instinctively nice, so doesn't that make you...fortunate?" He was still smiling at me, still in an endearing way, as to show that my confusion is expected. He sort of chuckled and looked deep into my eyes and said, "That optimistic side is why you are the fortunate one, never lose that. Would you like to see your fortunate male counterpart?" We continued walking in the store, something similar to a Hobby Lobby, yet suddenly we were looking into what looked like a beach home. In it had a family, with brothers and sisters and parents and a golden retriever. They looked to be straight out of a J Crew catalog from the way they dressed to their extremely attractive features. I knew instantly which male was my counterpart; he was blonde, tall, athletic, happy and the sight of him made me gasp. I watched him for a few seconds and went to say something, but the shaggy, dark haired guy stopped me and told me it wasn't possible and that the fortunate male couldn't hear me. It was if I communicated to the shaggy haired male "why?" without speaking, for he said "we were all born at the same time, our souls connected. Our unfortunate female counterpart has already passed on, and, well...I suppose I have too. I suppose that's why I can communicate with you. I still don't quite understand this whole parallel universe thing. But point is, you and the fortunate male are the only ones left out of us and I just wanted to check on you." As he is saying all of this, we faded away from the beach house back into the hobby lobby, still walking the whole time. The dark haired woman from before had stopped walking, looking to my shaggy haired friend as if it were time to go. He acknowledged her and continued, "you are doing just fine. You have been blessed, and you are strong. You will be the one to make it out of all of us. Seeing you deciding which to pick, the bird or the seashells, I just know you will be the one to make it. You can do this." Then he hugged me with tears in his eyes and smiled, and walked to the woman and they walked away without anymore words. I suppose I had tears in my eyes too, but I didn't understand until after he had left and I was back at the shelves with the bird and seashells in my hand, still trying to decide which to pick. It was like the entire sequence hadn't occurred, and was just a memory that had just happened. I looked at the bird and the seashell, and set the bird down. I took the seashells towards check out and woke up.
