What is Kratom?

The scientific botanical name is Mitragyna Speciosa, and it belongs in the same genus of plants as the coffee tree, whose scientific name is Rubiaceae. Since it grows in many different areas, it has evolved to adapt to its environment, and and it varies in how it looks, effects, and potency. The leaves of the Kratom tree have been used by people of Southeast Asia as an organic supplement for centuries, it is commonly also used for diarrhea, and also to help people with opiate addiction.
