so my dear friend simon lent me a book.. it’s called “seven brief lessons on physics” written by carlo rovelli.. iv dropped into the ritual of reading it as i sip on my morning coffee.. it talks of theories on the universe by famous physicists like Einstein.. aside from making my existence seem small and every problem i ever considered a problem, irrelevant... it is actually blowing my mind and challenging every belief that iv ever had of this miraculous planet we inhabit. i’m going to leave a paragraph of what i read this morning here.. let me know what you think! “ what is the present? we say that only the things of the present exists: the past no longer exists and the future doesn’t exist yet. but in physics there is nothing that corresponds to the notion of that the “now”. compare ‘now’ with ‘here’. ‘here’ designates the place where the speaker is: for 2 different people it will be different places. ‘here’ is a word the meaning of which depends on where it is spoken. the technical term for this is ‘indexical’. ‘now’ is also what would be classed as indexical. no one would say “things here exist”, so why do we say “things that are now exist and everything else doesn’t”. modern physics has proven that “now” is an illusion that is subjective and purely an illusion based on individual perception. “ not too mention by the time we say “this moment is the only thing that is real”, the moment is gone. haha! what is life! #whatisnow #morningcoffee 🤯🤓😂 (at Goa)
